THE GRAND HOTEL BUDAPEST / Wes Anderson
Visual Effects Concept Artist
I worked directly with Wes Anderson, organising 100's of images and composites to convey the exact style he was going for, before the footage was given to LookFx, to ensure that his vision was met by them. I was also required to find out the feasibility of shots within the budget constraints. This was usually done with a bit of creative/out of the box thinking.
(can we fix this bathing cap? can we shrink this forehead that seems too large because of the wide-angle lens? what can we do to make this building look a bit more like a prison?)
This is the second Film I have worked on with Wes, prior was Fantastic Mr Fox where I did roughly the same thing. plus a few more.
LookFx article about working on Grand hotel Budapest
Excerpt from the article...
"Can you tell us more about your collaboration with Wes Anderson?
When we were deep into the project, the collaboration was really visually-based. Wes would send us accurate visual representation (which were created by me) of what he was looking for. Wes is a director who knows exactly what he wants and how to ask for it. His directing skills and involvement go past production and into post."

Bingo Player ft. Far East Movement 'Get Up' Director - Tim Hope
Second Camera, Effects Supervisor and Lead Roto
Tim Hope has directed a new video for Bingo Players, the Dutch DJ and production duo. The track 'Get Up' features Far East Movement on vocals and is released by Ministry of Sound Recording Ltd. (The track was originally released in 2011 as an instrumental piece entitled ‘Rattle’).
In the video a gang is menacing residents on a London housing estate. One of their targets is an elderly lady who is feeding ducks in the park. The ducks witness the gang stealing her handbag and stoning another duck in the pond. Furious at these outrages, the ducks pursue them back into the estate where the gang gets more than they bargained for.

Mopar 75th / passion Pictures / dir. Chris Curtis
Rotoscope Artist
Celebrating 75 years of high-performance sweet cars from Chrysler in my latest 30 second commercial for their Anniversary.
More cool cars with the ace Art Directing of Tim Marrs, who rocked his shizzle on my Audi’s ‘A day in the Life of an Audi Driver’ last year. Using vintage and new footage from Mopar, the mighty Nick Hristou created a fast paced live action edit taking us through the years. Each scene was then transformed by Tim before passing it onto animation and compositing to bring all the textures and depth in the scenes to life.
